Forever Three! Happy Birthday, Elmo! 🎈

Elmo’s Birthday is celebrated every year on February 3. The day was first marked by Sesame Street, which has famously described Elmo as being three-and-a-half years old—today and every day—since his first appearance on the show in 1980. Forever curious, forever learning, and forever three-and-a-half, Elmo continues to delight generations of children.

This beloved red friend helps young children navigate new experiences with confidence and ease. Through his gentle voice, permission to feel big emotions, and signature third-person speech, Elmo has become a cultural touchstone for early emotional intelligence.
