From our Director's Desk: Ensuring a Safe and Happy Summer for Your Little Ones

As the warm embrace of summer settles upon us here in Florida, I wanted to take a moment to remind all our wonderful parents about the importance of keeping our precious preschoolers, babies, and toddlers safe during this sunny season.

First and foremost, let's talk hydration. Just like us adults, our little ones need to stay hydrated, especially under the scorching Florida sun. Please ensure they're sipping water regularly, whether they're playing in the backyard or joining us for outdoor activities.

Sun protection is another vital aspect of summertime safety. As your child's second home, we want to make sure they're shielded from harmful UV rays. Don't forget to apply sunscreen with love and care, covering all those sweet little spots. And hats and sunglasses? They're not just adorable accessories – they're essential for keeping those tiny faces protected.

Now, onto staying cool. We know it's tempting to soak up every ray of sunshine, but it's crucial to avoid outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day. Instead, let's plan some indoor adventures or opt for early morning or late afternoon outings when the temperatures are a bit more bearable.

Water safety is always a top priority, especially in a state like Florida where pools and beaches are abundant. Whether you're splashing in the backyard pool or enjoying a day at the beach, please never leave your child unattended near water. Let's keep those little swimmers safe and sound.

And let's not forget about those pesky bugs! With the warm weather comes an influx of mosquitoes and other biting insects. Make sure to apply insect repellent to keep those bugs at bay, especially during outdoor excursions.

Last but certainly not least, a gentle reminder about car safety. Please, never leave your child unattended in a parked car, even for a quick errand. The temperature inside a vehicle can skyrocket in minutes, posing a serious risk to your child's health and safety.

From all of us here at PLG Kids Academy, we want to wish you and your family a safe and joyful summer season. Let's make memories, soak up the sunshine, and most importantly, keep our little ones safe every step of the way.

Best regards,

Lorena Romero

Director
